Bristol Bay saw about 1.9 million fish swim through the waters on Wednesday for a total run of 16.1 million salmon so far. Weak onshore flow and a coastal eddy will prevail through Thursday.The Bristol Bay run is slowing down, but still had a strong harvest yesterday of 722,000 fish. Total harvest is now at 35.3 million, and total escapement is at 12.8 million. The total bay-wide run is estimated at 48.2 million fish.Peter Pan’s King Cove plant will stay shut this winter. Half a million sockeye swam past the Nushagak River sonar. More than a quarter million escaped up the Wood River. Nushagak’s commercial harvest was a bit more tempered than earlier in the week, but still the largest of the districts. More than 1 million fish returned to the bay on Friday.The bay-wide daily catch on Wednesday was 606,090 fish harvested across all districts. The total run as of yesterday was 6,149,525 sockeye, and cumulative escapement was at 2,714,623.
